Classroom News-November 29, 2017
Late Start
Wednesday, December 6 is a Late Start Day. School will start at 11:30 and we will go straight to lunch. We will dismiss at the usual 3:40 time.
No School
We will be on Winter Breakfrom December 18-January 2. We will return to school on Wednesday, January 3.
Report Cards
Report Cards will be available on Infinite Campus on Friday, December 2. A hard copy will not be sent home. I will also send home a couple of pamphlets that will explain the report cards. If you do not know your log in information for Infinite Campus, please contact the office. I do not have that information to forward to you.
Gingerbread Houses
Thank you for the old Halloween candy! We will decorate Gingerbread Houses a little early on December 8. Parents are welcome to come in and help with the decorating. We will need a couple of containers of frosting, some M&Ms, graham crackers (needed right away), and paper plates to glue the houses to (these will need to come in as soon as possible). I am also looking for volunteers to come in and glue the gingerbread houses together. If you can help out with any of these, please let me know.
Polar Express
We will have a Polar Express Day on December 15. Watch for more details coming soon!
Assessments
We will start mid-year assessments next week. Its hard to believe it is time for mid-year assessments! Children will be tested on letters, letter sounds, rhyming, beginning sounds, concept of word, spelling, and reading. It would be a good idea to make sure everyone gets a good night's sleep and comes to school rested and ready to do their best!

Please continue to use these programs at home. I sent your child's log in information home in an email.
The Gingerbread Man
This week we have read 2 versions of the Gingerbread Man. Today we compared and contrasted them. The class came up with some terrific ideas! I've included a picture of the Double Bubble Map we made at the bottom of this post. We also built bridges that the gingerbread man could have gone across instead of asking the fox to help him get across the river. They did a great job with this! Check out the pictures!
